AND THEY LOVED NOT THEIR LIVES UNTO DEATH.

(Revelation 12:10,11) And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down — he who accuses them day and night before our God. They have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. And they did not love their lives so as to shy away from death.

I think we see the hand of God in this story of John Harper. Was he guided by God to book a berth on the Titanic? We don’t know. Perhaps he felt he needed a holiday. God knew the Titanic would go down. Whatever happened God had a man he could trust to deny himself for the salvation of souls. Only heaven will reveal how many people made it to heaven because of John Harper.

Harper was the type of man who would be talking of Jesus where ever he found himself. How many did he preach the gospel too in the early stages of the voyage when all was well ? Perhaps some of those he spoke too, called on Jesus when the disaster struck. Heaven will reveal it.
