IT CAN GET WILD WHEN YOU GO ON THE STREET FOR JESUS.

i’m a bit long in the tooth for it now, but when I first became a Christian many years ago I was always keen to talk too people anywhere about Jesus. Actually immediately after becoming a Christian I was very hesitant about admitting I was a new Christian. It didn’t take long for me to recognize God wanted us to share our experience, and as a matter of obedience I gradually worked up to where I was willing to tell my experience of Jesus anywhere and everywhere.

A speaker came to my Church who was part of Open Air Campaigners — a street preaching Ministry in Auckland, New Zealand. After listening to Him I made inquiries and joined the group. They used a mobile open sided caravan with sound system, and set it up in main shopping areas on Thursday, Friday and Saturday late afternoon/night. My job was mainly to circulate amongst the people listening, ask them what they thought of the preaching — and guide them to receive Jesus. It wasn’t long before I realized street evangelism was a bit of a walk on the wild-side.

Here are three of the more extreme experiences I had, beginning with the day I went to the first prayer meeting, held one night a week as support for the activity. I had caught public transport, then had a short walk to the prayer meeting address. I was blissfully strolling…
