Don't entirely agree there. What is the point of so many Bibles being available these days if we can't know what it means. Also a lot of things in the New Testament are very clear - after all they are mostly letters sent to ordinary people like you and I. EG when Hebrews 10:2 says the result of Jesus atonement is 'no more consciousness of sins. Why would I need help to understand that? (that appears in 21 translations) We don't need help to understand John 3:16. A large part of the NT can be understood at the surface level. Why would God want His Word to be inaccessible to ordinary people? Acts says the people who checked the teaching they received with Word of God themselves, were the more noble. (Acts 17:11) bi
