GOD SPEAKS TO EVERYONE IN DREAMS.
DREAMS AND THE BIBLE.
According to the book of Job, God speaks to everybody through dreams. For God speaks again and again in dreams, in visions of the night when deep sleep falls on men as they lie on their beds. He opens their ears in times like that, and gives them wisdom and instruction. (Job 33:17) The Apostle Peter spoke of dreams as one of the signs of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the last days when he explained the meaning of the events, on the day of Pentecost, to the people attracted by the sound of the Holy Spirit’s arrival. (Acts 2) He quotes the prophecy of last day events by the Prophet Joel. (Joel 2:28–32)
We can presume Peter was speaking of God pouring His Spirit out only upon Christians. In fact, in the first part of the quote from Joel, God promises to pour His Spirit upon all mankind. (Acts 2:17) One result of that outpouring is old men shall dream dreams. (Acts 2:17)
The Bible records many occasions when God spoke to the Godly and the ungodly in dreams. God given dreams played a leading role in many of the momentous events in the Bible. In a dream God appeared to Jacob and gave him a promise about the nation of Israel and the blessing of the Gospel. (Gen 28) Joseph saw his destiny in a dream. He became a ruler in Egypt under Pharaoh because of his ability to interpret dreams. (Gen 37,40,41) His dream…
