Have you ever thought about John 17: 15 and 20 ? (Jesus) ‘My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one…….My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message.’

Jesus is praying for the twelve disciples in verse seventeen. Verse twenty is His prayer for all those who will believe in Him through the gospel preaching started by the twelve.

The verse seventeen prayer is why the twelve Disciples were able to work for God on the earth without being prematurely destroyed by the devil. Jesus prayer of verse twenty is why all of us and every Christian from the days of Jesus were/are able to live behind enemy lines as it were, and live for Him on the earth. The Bible calls the devil the god and ruler of this world. He is a liar, a murderer, and a destroyer. He would be most happy to wipe us all out. But He can’t because of just one prayer by Jesus.

That one prayer by the Son of God has enabled the millions who have believed in Him since His death, burial, and resurrection, to live for Him and serve Him according to God’s will and purpose..

The Bible gives an indication God wants us to learn to pray big. (James 5:17,18) The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail. Elijah was
